Intraradicular Diameter, Remnant Dentin Thickness, and Endodontic Post to Dentin Distance: CBCT and Microscopic Analyses

Abstract The objective of this work was to measure the tooth root canals’ diameter, remnant dentin thickness, endodontic post distance, and resin-matrix cement layer after three types canal shaping. Thirty extracted human premolars were endodontically treated groups specimens divided according cementation with two different posts as follow: A) Fibio Fiberglass Post™, Anthogyr, France; B) multi-filament GFRC (Rebilda GT™, VOCO, Germany). Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) conventional X-ray analyses performed before cementation. After cementation, cross-sectioned inspected by optical microscopy scanning electron at magnification ranging from × 30 up 2000. Changes in shaping canals caused a decrease thickness tissues. CBCT microscopic also revealed clear variation around glass fiber-reinforced composite (GFRC) posts. A provided an adequate distribution filaments although high volume among filaments.
